Ching added, Bocanegra to rejoin US side for opening World Cup qualifier

Defender Carlos Bocanegra and Houston Dynamo striker Brian Ching were added to the U.S. roster Tuesday for the team's opening World Cup qualifier against Barbados, giving coach Bob Bradley a 21-man side for Sunday's game.
The pair join the 19-player roster that held Argentina to a 0-0 draw on Sunday in New York. Bocanegra, who had played friendlies against England and Spain, missed Sunday's match due to a family commitment.
Ching, who scored twice in Sunday's 3-1 victory over Toronto and has four goals in his last four games in Major League Soccer, bolsters a U.S. offense that has been held without a goal in its past three matches.
The roster for Sunday's game in Los Angeles includes 13 players who already have been through World Cup qualifying, led by 26-year-old Landon Donovan, the team's all-time leading scorer who earned his 100th cap against Argentina.
The team also includes five players who are age-eligible for the U.S. Olympic roster, led by Benfica midfielder Freddy Adu.
After Sunday's game, the team will travel to Bridgetown, Barbados for the second leg in the Caribbean.
Among those not called in by U.S. manager Bob Bradley was Kansas City Wizards defender Jimmy Conrad and New York Red Bulls striker Jozy Altidore, who injured his ankle in training last week just before the announcement of his $10 million (euro6.44 million) transfer to Spanish club Villarreal.
