Spain's new coach calls up Lopez and Rubio for preliminary Olympic squad

Spain's new coach Aito Garcia Reneses called up Real Madrid's Raul Lopez and teenage Ricky Rubio in his 15-man preliminary squad for the Olympic Games on Tuesday.
Lopez last played for Spain in 2002, while 17-year-old Rubio, who plays for DKV Joventut and is regarded as one of the best European prospects, has yet to make an international appearance.
Lopez and Rubio, both guards, replace Sergio Rodriguez of Portland Trailblazers and Unicaja Malaga's Carlos Cabezas.
Garcia Reneses has 10 players who will definitely go to Beijing, while Victor Sada of Akasvayu Girona, Berni Rodriguez of Unicaja Malaga, Pamesa's Victor Claver and Polaris World Murcia's Juanjo Triguero are not certain to be included in the final squad.
Toronto Raptors' Jorge Garbajosa also made the preliminary selection after missing the whole NBA season through injury.
Spain appointed Garcia Reneses last week after firing Jose Vicente "Pepu" Hernandez, who led the team to its first world championship in 2006 and the final of the European championship last year.
