6 Indonesian children hospitalized after mistaking pills for chocolate

Six kindergarten children were hospitalized after eating sedatives that they thought were chocolates, doctors and police said Tuesday.
Children at the Sekar Bangsa school in southern Jakarta became dizzy and started bumping into walls and doors after consuming the drug Erimin, said police spokesman Ketut Untung Yoga. Some also vomited, he said.
Urine tests showed traces of benzodiazepines, a psychoactive drug commonly prescribed for insomnia, said Ugi Sugiri, an intensive care doctor. Two of the children remained unconscious and four others were released, he said.
A 6-year-old boy brought the pills to school in a chocolate bar wrapper and handed them out, said Husniah Rubiana, head of the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency.
It was unclear how the pills ended up in the boy's possession and police were questioning the parents.
