U.S. dollar higher, gold in European morning trading

The U.S. dollar was higher against other major currencies in European trading Tuesday morning. Gold fell.
The euro traded at US$1.5506, down from US$1.5652 late Monday in New York.

Silver opened in London at US$17.06, down from US$17.27.
