Attorney: Case dropped in drugging of Olympic, world figure skating champ Grishuk

A defense attorney says the local prosecutor's office has dropped its case against a man who had been accused of slipping a date-rape drug into the drink of former world and Olympic ice skating champion Oksana "Pasha" Grishuk.
Attorney Michael Molfetta says the case against his client, 61-year-old James R. Halstead, was dismissed Monday at what would have been Halstead's arraignment.
Molfetta says the Orange County district attorney did not have enough evidence.
Halstead was charged last month with one felony count of administering a drug to Grishuk with the intent of having sex with her. Grishuk won four world titles and two Olympic gold medals in ice dancing with Evgeny Platov for Russia in the 1990s.
Calls to the district attorney and the sheriff's office were not immediately returned.
