Meteorite shaped like Michigan sells at auction for down-to-earth price of $20K

A meteorite resembling the state of Michigan's Lower Peninsula has been sold at auction, but for less than the seller hoped.
The 75-pound (34-kilogram) nickel-and-iron meteorite sold for $20,000 Sunday at Heritage Auction Galleries in Dallas. It had been expected to sell for $32,500 to $40,000.
Michigan native Darryl Pitt, the meteorite's owner, says he is disappointed by the low price. He says he thinks the space rock is worth $50,000.
There was more interest in a three-quarter-ton nickel-iron meteorite that resembles the Indian subcontinent. It sold for $90,000.
