Starace advances to second round at Warsaw Open

Sixth-seeded Potito Starace of Italy beat Dawid Olejniczak of Poland 6-2, 6-3 on Monday to advance to the second round of the Warsaw Open.
In other opening round matches of the clay-court tournament, France's Florent Serra defeated Guillermo Coria when the Argentine retired with an injured left wrist after losing the first set 6-3.
Jiri Vanek of the Czech Republic rallied to beat Carlos Berlocq of Argentina 1-6, 6-2, 7-6 (5) and Evgeny Korolev of Russia defeated Victor Hanescu of Romania 6-4, 6-2.
Marcos Daniel of Brazil beat Filippo Volandri of Italy 6-3, 6-4.
Top-seeded Nikolay Davydenko, No. 2 seed and defending champion Tommy Robredo and No. 5 Guillermo Canas all play Tuesday.
