Seven-time NFL Pro Bowl defensive end Michael Strahan to retire

Seven-time Pro Bowl defensive end Michael Strahan is retiring after a 15-year career in the National Football League, capped by a Super Bowl title with the New York Giants in February.
The 36-year-old Strahan is the NFL's active leader in quarterback sacks.
He informed the Giants on Monday, and coach Tom Coughlin said after a team workout that he just learned of the decision. Strahan's retirement was first reported by Foxsports.com. Strahan told the Web site he wanted his teammates to know his plans before they began a new season.
Strahan hinted at retirement last season and missed almost all of pre-season training camp.
