Finnish exports hit all-time monthly record of euro6.4 billion

Finnish Customs says the value of the country's exports reached an all-time monthly high of euro6.4 billion (US$10 billion) in April.
The government-run authority says the new record was almost 5 percent higher than the previous record, set in April 2007. It was mostly caused by a U.S. order for a cruise liner that amounted to euro600 million (US$950 million).
The customs agency also says that imports in April grew by 14 percent over April 2007 to euro5.4 billion (US$8.5 billion).
Monday's preliminary figures show that the trade surplus in January to April this year fell slightly to euro2.1 billion (US$3.3 billion) from euro2.3 billion in the same period in 2007.
