Weather forecast for the Asia-Pacific region

Weather forecast for the Asia-Pacific region

A cold front off the coast of Japan will bring heavy rain and squalls just offshore southern portions of the nation Tuesday. Some of this rain will move ashore from Sendai to around Osaka, in the early morning but move offshore late in the day.
High temperatures in Tokyo will rise into the mid-20s Celsius, while Osaka's temps rise into the upper 20s C.
The same front will intersect mainland China just south of Shanghai, and scattered rain and thunderstorms are anticipated south and west of the city. To the north, high pressure will bring mainly clear skies to places like Beijing and Northeastern China, but a few showers will probably develop just to the south of Mongolia.
Temperatures in Shanghai will be relatively cool with highs in the mid 20s C while Beijing is expected to see temperatures rise into the low 30s C.
Southeast Asia will be seasonally wet, with monsoon rains pouring down from southern China southward down the Malay Peninsula.
India's western coastline will also see heavy monsoon precipitation especially south of Mumbai.
Australia will see wet weather over a large portion of the continent from two separate storms Tuesday. A strong Antarctic low pressure system will drift eastward south of the Great Australian Bight and push a front through Western Australia and South Australia. Along the front, heavy rain and strong winds are possible.
Southeastern Australia will also see rain on Tuesday as a large high pressure system off the coast pumps moisture into the region as storm moves in. Rain will likely last through the day from Melbourne to Brisbane.
