Austria coach Josef Hickersberger chose Juergen Macho as goalkeeper for his team's opening European Championship match against Croatia on Sunday.
Macho had been in competition for the past 1 1/2 years with Alexander Manninger and Helge Payer, who missed Euro 2008 due to a venous injury. Hickersberger has called up Ramazan Oezcan to replace Payer.
Austria's 3-5-2 formation included one surprise: Ronald Gercialiu was picked to play in left midfield instead of the more experienced Christian Fuchs.
Sebastian Proedl, Martin Stranzl and Emanuel Pogatetz will form Austria's defense, while Joachim Standfest, Rene Aufhauser, Juergen Saeumel, Andreas Ivanschitz and Gercaliu will make up the midfield. The forwards are Martin Harnik and Roland Linz.
Croatia coach Slaven Bilic issued his team on Saturday and it contained no surprises.
Mladen Petric and Ivica Orlic will play up front and try to score the first goal by a Croatia forward in an international since Petric's winning goal against England at Wembley stadium in November.
