Pakistan sets Bangladesh 234 to win first ODI

Half centuries by Salman Butt and Mohammad Yousuf helped Pakistan reach 233 Sunday in the rain-shortened, series-opening limited-overs cricket international against Bangladesh.
Opener Butt got Pakistan away to a solid start, scoring 70 before he was caught off Alok Kapali's bowling, and Yousuf added 59 before Pakistan crumbled to lose its last five wickets for six runs in the hunt for quick runs and was all out with three balls to spare.
Recalled spinner Abdur Razzak claimed 3 wickets for 35 runs, while all-rounder Kapali took 3-49 to restrict Pakistan after Bangladesh won the toss and opted to field. Bangladesh paceman Mashrafe Bin Mortaza got 2-36 and rookie Dolar Mahmud returned 1-27 on his international debut.
A rain-soaked outfield at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium delayed the start of the day-night game by nearly two hours, reducing it to 40 overs per side.
Pakistan drafted in Wahab Riaz to replace paceman Mohammad Asif, who was dropped from the squad after being arrested in Dubai for allegedly carrying an illegal substance.
Pakistan meet archrival India on Tuesday, while Bangladesh is against India on Thursday. The series final is scheduled for June 14.
