Pacific Nations Cup: Australia A beats Japan 42-21

Peter Kimlin scored a pair of tries Sunday as Australia A defeated Japan 42-21 in the Pacific Nations Cup rugby tournament.
Australia A built up a 28-3 lead at halftime after tries by Morgan Turinui, Mark Gerrard, Kimlin and Van Humphries.
Japan came to life after the break and cut the deficit to 35-19 on a pair of tries by Tomoaki Taniguchi but Kimlin scored his second try of the match in the 70th minute to make it 40-21.
Australia A play Samoa in Apia on June 15 before returning to Australia to play three home matches against Tonga, Fiji and New Zealand Maori. Japan next faces Tonga on June 14.
Sunday's game completed the first round of matches, after Fiji beat Samoa 34-17 and New Zealand Maori downed Tonga 20-9 on Saturday.
