Weather forecast for the Asia-Pacific region

A trough of low pressure over the Sea of Japan will drive much of the active weather in eastern Asia on Monday. The moisture associated with this feature will push up the east coast of Japan and provide rain for mostly coastal areas of the country.
Some inland rain may occur in northern Honshu. A train of moisture will extend through the East China Sea and into southeast China. This moisture will generate showers and thunderstorms across the Ryukyu Islands and into southeast China.
Some dryer weather is possible in and around Hong Kong. Northern China will remain mostly dry and somewhat warm. In fact, warm air will encompass much of eastern Asia from inland China through Taiwan.
Tokyo will rise into the lower 20s Celsius, while Shanghai will see temperatures in the mid-20s C. Seoul will rise into the mid-20s C.
For Australia, a strong trough of low pressure will move into the southeastern portion of the country, providing fairly widespread rain in southern Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales. This system will also continue to usher mild to cool air into the same region.
Meanwhile, a low pressure system and associated front will move onto the west coast of the country. This will produce widespread rain from Shark Bay through Cape Leeuwin. The front will then track along the Great Australian Bight.
Sydney will rise into the upper 10s C, while Melbourne will see temperatures in the mid-10s C. Brisbane will rise into the lower 20s C.
