'Several' fans detained in Klagenfurt a day ahead of Euro 2008 match

Police detained several people in southern Austria following incidents between groups of fans Saturday, a day before Germany and Poland play in the European Championship.
Klagenfurt Euro 2008 police spokesman Gottlieb Tuerk said the people were taken in shortly before 1900 GMT in the city center. He declined to provide more details, but several people were taken away with their hands tied behind their backs.
Poland and Germany are scheduled to play in Group B on Sunday in Klagenfurt. The match has been considered to be one of the more likely for fan violence.
