South Korea beat Jordan 1-0 Saturday with a penalty kick from Chu Young to move top of Group 3 in World Cup qualifying.
Young converted in the 24th minute after Jordan goalkeeper Loai El-Amaireh pushed Seol Ki to the ground.
South Korea held its lead throughout despite the hosts having several chances to equalize in the second half.
South and North Korea lead the group with eight points. Jordan is third with four points and Turkmenistan last with one.
The top two teams in each group advance to the final round of Asian qualifying.
