New Approach has won the English Derby by half a length.
The Jim Bolger-trained colt pushed ahead in the final furlong to beat Tartan Bearer over the line Saturday. Casual Conquest, the pre-race favorite, finished third.
Bolger only entered New Approach into the English classic on Monday after initially saying he wouldn't feature at Epsom.
