Winner of raffle draw will get NT$20,000; proceeds from ticket sales to help migrants

All invited to mark 110th Philippine Independence Day

The Manila Economic & Cultural Office in partnership with Rerum Novarum and in cooperation with the Filipino communities invite everyone to Taipei's Da-an Park on June 15th to celebrate the 110th Philippine Independence Day.
There will be celebrities and cultural groups coming to Taipei all the way from the Philippines to provide entertainment during that day's celebration, said the MECO.
Celebration events including a street dance competition, a search for Ms. Philippine Independence 2008, parlor games and raffle draws.
Delicacies and drinks will also be available at the venue.
Registration Booths will be available at the entrance of the venue to distribute free raffle tickets and free lunch boxes to the first 1,000 people who join the event, according to the MECO.
Tito Gray of International Community Radio Taipei's Asianation will also be there to emcee this exciting event.
There will also be another kind of Raffle Draw and tickets are available at the venue for NT$50 each.
A spot cash prize of NT$20,000 will be given away to the lucky First Prize winner and the Second Price will be for NT$10,000, Third is NT$5,000 plus 5 Consolation Prizes of MP3GB.
Proceeds of the sale of tickets will be split to fund the Philippine Independence celebration and to organize the Migrants and Immigrants Center in Taipei for the benefit of any Filipino individuals or groups who would need a place for meetings, programs, or even for temporary or overnight stay, said the MECO.
The office, therefore, called on as many friends as possible to contribute in this meaningful project.
The celebrations will last from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the park located on Shin-Sheng South Road.
