Judge refuses to release man jailed for refusing to testify in Broadcom co-founder drug probe

A judge is refusing to release a bodyguard who would not testify in the probe that led to the drug charges indictment of the co-founder of tech giant Broadcom Inc.
Bodyguard Stephen Otten was jailed a month ago for refusing to testify in the investigation of Henry T. Nicholas III.
U.S. District Judge James on Friday refused to free Otten after prosecutors objected to a defense request that Otten be released.
A defense lawyer says Otten just does not want to "be a rat." Otten has provided security for Nicholas' three children.
Nicholas is free after posting $3.3 million bail.
