Italy right back Christian Panucci will be available to play in his team's European Championship opener against the Netherlands on Monday despite a right knee injury.
The AS Roma defender limped off the training field with a pulled tendon Friday.
"I re-aggravated an injury I had with Roma, but I will definitely be available to play," Panucci said Saturday. "Today it is a bit better even though it is still a little swollen. By tomorrow, I'll be fine."
The oldest member of Italy's squad at 35, Panucci is fighting Gianluca Zambrotta for a starting spot. If Panucci is unable to play, Zambrotta will likely start at right back with Fabio Grosso on the left.
Italy captain Fabio Cannavaro was ruled out of Euro 2008 after injuring his ankle in the Azzurri's opening training session last Monday.
