Sailor suffers broken cheekbone in return from drug ban

Former Wallaby winger Wendell Sailor's return to topflight football after a two-year drug suspension was short-lived _ he suffered a broken cheekbone in the first half of the National Rugby League match and faces a lengthy injury layoff.
Sailor, who shifted to rugby union in 2002 and served a doping suspension for a positive cocaine test in 2006, was playing his first game Friday for St. George Illawarra as the Dragons beat the Brisbane Broncos 28-10.
Sailor was caught in the face by an elbow during a tackle.
"He'll have scans to assess whether he need an operation, it looks like he will," Dragons doctor Paul Annett said. "It will probably be 4-6 weeks (off)."
The 33-year-old Sailor played for the Broncos until 2001 before shifting to union, and he has played 15 tests for Australia's league test team and 37 in rugby union.
