Injured Russia striker Pavel Pogrebnyak misses training again

Injured striker Pavel Pogrebnyak walked onto the field Friday as his Russia teammates ran around him, then he turned around and walked back into the club house out of the rain.
He didn't even bother taking off his track suit.
Another day, another European Championship training session missed for the Zenit St. Petersburg forward, who injured the meniscus in his left knee more than a week ago and hasn't trained since.
Neither the player nor team officials commented on Pogrebnyak's condition, but with Russia's first match, against Group D favorite Spain, next Tuesday, time is running out for him to be fit. Russia coach Guus Hiddink has said he has no plans to call up a replacement, but ranks Pogrebnyak's chances of playing at Euro 2008 at 50 percent.
Roman Pavlyuchenko, the lanky Spartak Moscow striker expected to take Pogrebnyak's place in Russia's attack, also refused to speak to reporters after the training session.
Reserve goalkeeper Vladimir Gabulov returned to training after going through exercises apart from the rest of the players a day earlier. Gabulov injured his thigh after colliding with a teammate earlier this week in training. He is considered Russia's third goalkeeper after Igor Akinfeyev and Vyacheslav Malafeyev.
