New ship joins Yang Ming fleet

"YM Intelligent," a new 1,805-TEU full containership, joined Yang Ming Line's China-India-Middle East Express CIX Service on January 10.

The new ship, one of 12 same type ships being built by the Keelung shipyard of China Shipbuilding Corporation (CSBC) for Yang Ming, was christened and launched in Keelung recently.

Ms. Sung Feng-chun, wife of the director of Directorate General of Highways, MOTC, Chen Jin-yuang, cut the ceremonial rope to launch the new ship. The ceremony was jointly officiated by Yang Ming Group Chairman W.S. Huang and CSBC Chairman Frank F.H. Lu.

Yang Ming will deploy all its new 1,805-TEU ships in the intra-Asia service.
