Asteras holds Olympiakos to 1-1 draw in Greek league

Horacio Cardozo scored a first-half goal for Asteras to salvage a 1-1 draw against Olympiakos in the Greek league on Saturday.
Julio Cezar gave Olympiakos the lead in the 3rd minute.
Asteras, playing in the top division for the first time in its 77-year history, is the only team so far this season to have cost Olympiakos five points. Asteras beat the defending champions 1-0 at home in November.
Olympiakos now shares top place in the league with Panathinaikos with 49 points each, four ahead of AEK in third place. AEK hosts Panathinaikos in the round's major game on Sunday.
Olympiakos immediately attacked at the Karaiskakis stadium in Piraeus and took the lead with a header by Cezar off a cross from Cristian Ledesma.
Asteras equalized through Cardozo in its first serious attack in the 33rd. The Argentine midfielder gained the ball after a misunderstanding between Olympiakos defenders and unleashed a low drive from the edge of the box to beat Michalis Sifakis.
In the 50th, Asteras' Carlos Massara was ejected for a second yellow card.
Asteras nearly scored in the 54th when a strong header by Danijel Cezarec forced Sifakis to make a diving save.
