Marian Hossa injured knee in Pittsburgh Penguins debut, out about a week

Slovak forward Marian Hossa was happy to learn that his sprained knee will keep him from skating with his new Pittsburgh Penguins teammates for only about a week.
Hossa injured his right knee against the Boston Bruins on Thursday, just 13 shifts into his debut with the Penguins.
"It's bad news, but it's also good news because I didn't know what to expect and it's a first-degree MCL (medial collateral ligament) and it should be better within hopefully a week," Hossa said on Friday.
Wearing a brace, Hossa worked out off the ice while his teammates ran through a practice for their game against Ottawa on Saturday.
Acquired from Atlanta at the trade deadline on Tuesday, the five-time All-Star saw about 10 minutes of ice time on Thursday before he banged knees with Boston's Glen Murray.
"I just felt good last night in the one period, and to tell you the truth, I'm really looking forward to playing with those guys," the 29-year-old right-winger said.
