Paradorn aims for comeback in time for April Davis Cup tie

Former world No. 9 Paradorn Srichaphan is aiming to make his comeback to top-level tennis in time for Thailand's Davis Cup tie against Australia in April, Thai media said Friday.
Paradorn, the first Asian men's player to be ranked in the top 10, has not played on the ATP Tour since March 2007 due to a right wrist injury. He was scheduled to make his first steps in a comeback on Friday by having a hitting session with Davis Cup teammate Danai Udomchoke.
"My wrist is getting better. But I can't tell when I will be able to return to competition," Paradorn was quoted as saying in the Bangkok Post newspaper.
"If my wrist is in good shape then I will be willing to help Thailand in the Davis Cup."
Australia will host Thailand in the Davis Cup Asia-Oceania Group I's second round from April 11-13, with the winner progressing to World Group playoffs.
Paradorn, who has won five ATP titles, underwent surgery on Oct. 11.
