US federal judge tentatively bars sale of Roche anemia drug

A federal judge has tentatively barred Roche Holding AG from selling its anemia drug in the United States that a jury found violated a patent held by Amgen Inc.
But U.S. District Judge William Young said Thursday he was open to allowing sales of the drug Mircera if Roche agrees to certain conditions.
Those conditions include paying a slightly higher royalty to Amgen than Roche had proposed, and guarantees that Roche won't charge higher prices than those for existing anemia drugs.
Young gave Roche three months to decide whether to make a proposal for selling the drug under the judge's terms.
Switzerland-based Roche won U.S. regulator approval for Mircera in November but sales have been held up by the patent dispute.
