Defending Boston Marathon champ Cheruiyot leads strong Kenyan field

Three-time champion and course record-holder Robert Kipkoech Cheruiyot will defend his title in this year's Boston Marathon and attempt to become the first Kenyan to win the 112-year-old race four times.
James Kwambai and Stephen Kiogora, Kenyans who finished second and third last year, also are in the men's field announced on Wednesday. So are reigning Chicago champion Patrick Ivuti of Kenya, 2006 Paris winner Gashaw Asfaw of Ethiopia and Christopher Cheboiboch, a past Boston and New York City runner-up and last year's winner in Las Vegas.
Defending women's champion Lidiya Grigoryeva of Russia also plans to return.
The race is on April 21.
