The Westin Taipei welcomes the months of March and April with a "Spring Romance, Cherry Blossoms and an English High Tea Set Theme." The Asian award-winning Pastry Shop Executive Chef Chen Ching-Hai has specially designed a sumptuous English High Tea Set menu for the hotel's Hampton Court/Garden.
Executive Chef Chen has expertly blended the best of the West and East by introducing famous European desserts/snacks combined with Japan's renowned cherry blossoms. The theme of the English High Tea Set centers on cherry blossoms. Diners who visit the Hampton Court will be able to experience a spring romance, surrounded by beautiful cherry blossoms, and be enticed with a variety of cherry blossoms flavored bread, snacks and cakes. Taste the best of Asian award-winning champion Pastry Shop Executive Chef's famous creations such as the Sakura Strawberry Butter Roll, Sakura Red Beans Milk Bread, Sakura Black Bean Toast Bread, Sakura Sweet Potato, Sakura Cheese Cake, Sakura Strawberry Cake. These five kinds of cakes contain low calories, low sugar and is perfect for a healthy consumption.
Revealing the secrets of Sakura flavors
When cherry blossoms (sakura) bloom, it is a sign of spring in the air. Executive Chef Chen Ching-Hai, renowned for its creative European-style desserts/sweets remarked, "Diners are in a for a treat as I have skillfully blended sakura into my inventive desserts. The main attraction of this English High Tea Set is to enable guests to savor the fragrant tastes of sakura and at the same time enjoy the variety of desserts featuring sakura decors." Executive Chef uses sakura sauce together with fresh sakura leaves and emphasizes on low sugar for a healthy consumption. Come and taste the various breads, desserts, and cakes featuring an authentic unique blend of sakura flavor.
Perfect combination of Japanese flavors
Sakura and strawberries make up a perfect and ingenious sense of sight. Sample the unique tastes of Sakura Strawberry Butter Roll and discover why it is not greasy but features a sour and sweet flavor of strawberries that disclose the light touch of sakura. Savor Sakura Perilla Warabi Mochi that uses a kind of Japanese fruit and the extract of the roots of perilla that is refined into perilla powder then mixed with sugar and water. Each bite is absolutely satisfying that features perilla with sakura fragrance. A bustling favorite is the Sakura "Yi Pi Lu Shang" Cake which uses red beans as stuffing and added with sakura (cherry blossoms) jam to features a fragrant smell. The red beans stuffing is first flatten and then sprinkled with sable before it is baked into a crispy delicious cake.
Various sakura favorites offered at the English High Tea Set include the Sakura & Pomelo Cheese, a renowned Japanese style sweet soup that is filled with sakura leaves fragrance, taro balls, sweet potato and the highly popular brisk taste of "mochi."
