Roma wants to reopen title race in meeting with Inter

AS Roma is seeking to reopen the Serie A title race when it visits Inter Milan on Wednesday.
Still unbeaten in the league, Inter holds a nine-point lead on Roma but its two top scorers are out injured. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is out with a left knee injury and Julio Ricardo Cruz has a leg problem.
"I'm upset they're not able to play right now. We really need everyone," Inter coach Roberto Mancini said. "We're going to play to win, even though a tie would also do us well."
Mancini said he expected Ibrahimovic to return for Inter's following game against Napoli, which means he could be fit for the return match with Liverpool on March 11.
Inter is coming off a 2-0 loss at Liverpool in the Champions League and a 1-1 draw at Sampdoria on Sunday. Roma won its last two matches, against Real Madrid and Fiorentina.
"We're going to Milan without thinking that this could be our last chance. You never how things will turn out in soccer," Roma captain Francesco Totti said in his column in Corriere dello Sport.
"The (title race) is not finished."
Cicinho, the Brazilian defender who scored in Roma's 1-0 win over Fiorentina, is suspended after picking up a second yellow card late on in Sunday's game.
Defender Juan and midfielder Amantino Mancini are preparing to return from injury, while right back Christian Panucci is still out.
Inter beat a 10-man Roma 4-1 in September.
With Ibrahimovic set to miss his third consecutive league match, Inter's offense should again come down to Hernan Crespo and David Suazo, with 18-year-old Mario Balotelli another option.
Crespo scored a second-half equalizer in Inter's draw at Sampdoria.
Inter captain Javier Zanetti tweaked his ankle in training Monday and could miss the game. Midfielder Dejan Stankovic appears OK after being off carried off against Sampdoria with a stomach cramp.
Inter leads with 60 points, followed by Roma with 51 and Juventus with 47.
Juventus was playing Torino in a derby Tuesday.
AC Milan and Fiorentina are tied for fourth with 41 points each.
Resurgent Milan visits Catania without Kaka, who has a knee injury. Defender Alessandro Nesta is also still out, while Paolo Maldini could return after resting his knees in a 2-1 win over Palermo on Sunday.
Defender Kakha Kaladze and midfielder Andrea Pirlo were left off the roster for the Catania game.
Filippo Inzaghi scored a 90th-minute winner against Palermo and is regaining his form just in time for next week's game with Arsenal.
"It isn't true that Milan only cares about Europe," Inzaghi said. "We want to move back up the standings in the league and get as high as we can."
Fiorentina hosts Livorno without Adrian Mutu, who is out for a month after twisting his knee, and Christian Vieri, who is suspended. That will leave the attack to Giampaolo Pazzini.
Also Wednesday, it's: Atalanta vs. Sampdoria; Genoa vs. Napoli; Lazio vs. Reggina; Palermo vs. Empoli; Parma vs. Udinese; and Siena vs. Cagliari.
