Force India's 2008 car makes F1 debut; Hamilton races fastest lap

Force India's 2008 car made its debut Monday, finishing ninth out of 19 on the first day of the final winter testing session.
Adrian Sutil drove the VJM01 car in 1 minute, 23.091 seconds.
"I think the car ran without any major problems and the balance we got in the end was quite OK," Sutil said. "We had some small issues ... but for the first day with a new car I am confident as I can feel there is something more to come."
McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton of Britain was fastest at the 4.655-kilometer (2.89-mile) Circuit de Catalunya track, finishing in 1:22.276.
Force India, which took over from the disbanded Spyker last year, was one of 10 teams taking part.
Seven-time champion Michael Schumacher, who has tested for Ferrari in the offseason, finished in 1:22.428 for third, behind teammate and world champion Kimi Raikkonen in 1:22.319.
Two-time world champion Fernando Alonso was sixth in 1:23.021 in his Renault.
The season begins in Melbourne at the Australian Grand Prix on March 16.
