Bosnian Serbs sign euro690 million concession agreement with British firm on power plant

The Bosnian Serb government signed a euro690 million concession agreement with British-based Energy Financing Team, EFT, which will build, use and maintain a thermal power plant in northern Bosnia.
The construction of a 410-megawatt plant will start this year and should be completed by 2012. It will be one of the biggest investments in the region, says Vuk Hamovic, who signed the agreement in Banja Luka on behalf of EFT on Monday.
The plant will produce 3,000 gigawatt hours of power annually and will burn lignite from nearby mines EFT bought in 2005.
