SIA, SilkAir to raise fuel surcharge

As a result of a further escalation in the price of jet fuel recently, Singapore Airlines and SilkAir will increase its fuel surcharge for tickets issued in Taiwan as follows:
For Singapore Airlines with effective from 01 January 2008:
* US$33 (up from US$25) per sector, for flights between Taipei and Singapore.
* US$75 (up from US$63) per sector, for flights between Taipei and Los Angeles.
For SilkAir with effective from 03 January 2008:
* US$33 (up from US$25) per sector, for flights between Kaohsiung and Singapore.
For both Singapore Airlines and SilkAir with immediate effect:
* On regional routes, US$26 (up from US$24) per sector, for flights between Singapore and ASEAN countries.
* US$123 (up from US$104) per sector, for flights between Singapore and gateways in the United States and Canada on a single-sector basis; and
* US$75 (up from US$67) per sector, on all other flights.
