Frankfurt signs Czech forward Martin Fenin from Teplice

Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt signed 20-year-old Czech Republic forward Martin Fenin on Friday.
Fenin, who joins from FK Teplice, had reportedly been sought after by Juventus and Werder Bremen but signed with Frankfurt until June 30, 2012.
"At Juve, I would never have the chances I now have in Frankfurt," Fenin said. "I preferred Eintracht because I want to play regularly and take part in the 2008 European Championships."
Terms of the deal were not released, but Frankfurt chairman Heribert Bruchhagen called it the most expensive signing in club history. German reports put the transfer fee at around euro4 million (US$6 million).
Fenin was the second highest scorer in the Czech league this season with 17 goals, and Frankfurt is in desperate need of offensive threats after netting just 19 goals in 17 Bundesliga games.
One of the club's top scorers, midfielder Albert Streit, also joined Schalke for the Bundesliga season's second half, which begins Feb. 1.
