CEPD discloses plan to restore industrial parks

The Cabinet-level Council of Economic Planning and Development will launch a project early next year to rejuvenate old industrial parks around the country, according to CEPD Minister Ho Mei-yueh (何美玥).
Ho's remarks came during a year-end news conference in Taipei Thursday to brief members of the media on the CEPD's achievements in boosting the country's economy over the past year.
Due to the fact that facilities at 26 of the nation's 55 industrial parks managed by the Industrial Development Bureau under the Ministry of Economic Affairs are somewhat time-worn, the CEPD recently decided to establish a task force dedicated to mapping out measures for their rejuvenation, Ho went on.
According to the proposed measures, the CEPD will implement the project in stages, Ho added, noting that the CEPD will select two industrial parks in the earliest stage, beginning sometime in the first quarter of the next year, and those parks will guide the CEPD in designing rejuvenation projects in the second stage.
