Sweden's TeliaSonera launches telecom infrastructure company on Jan. 1

Nordic telecommunications operator TeliaSonera AB on Thursday said it would launch a new infrastructure company on Jan. 1 to meet market requirements for transparency and control.
The purpose of the wholly owned TeliaSonera subsidiary, TeliaSonera Skanova Access AB, is to sell copper and copper-related infrastructure on the same commercial terms to all operators on the Swedish market, including the company's own end-customer operations.
Skanova Access will employ more than 700 people and will be headed by Anders Gylder as its chief executive, it said.
Anders Bruse has been appointed chairman of the board.
The company said the recruitment of a new chief financial officer will start in the first half of 2008 with the aim of having a new CFO in place by the third quarter.
TeliaSonera also said an Equality Access Board would be set up with the task to _ independently of TeliaSonera _ supervise equal treatment and monitor the market's confidence in Skanova Access.
It will also supervise the company's ability to live up to its commitments.
