Corruption trial of Bangladesh's ex-PM resumes after 15-day break

The extortion trial of Bangladesh's former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resumed Wednesday, with prosecutors presenting documents they said proved she received cash to grease the wheels of a power project.
Hasina and her cousin, Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, appeared in court Wednesday. Sessions Judge Azizul Haque said a third suspect in the case, Hasina's sister Sheikh Rehana, would be tried in absentia because she lives in London. There is no extradition treaty between Britain and Bangladesh.
