South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun approved a bill calling for an independent investigation into fraud allegations against President-elect Lee Myung-bak, a news report said Wednesday.
The move came a week after the country's legislature voted to launch an independent investigation into the allegations that Lee was involved in a stock price manipulation case surrounding a former business associate.
Lee and his opposition conservative Grand National Party could not be immediately reached for comment.
