Weather forecast for the Asia-Pacific region

Few changes are expected in the weather in northern Asia on Wednesday as high pressure over eastern Mongolia should keep the overall pattern unchanged.
One area where changes are expected will be over Japan as a low pressure system drifts away from the coast. Showers will linger throughout the southern Japan and continue south toward Taiwan.
Over mainland China, mostly clear skies are anticipated, though the south and central areas can expect clouds and some light rain as moisture flows in from the South China Sea.
Southeast Asia will be dry, with only scattered showers anticipated in the extreme southern reaches of the region, mostly on the Malay peninsula.
Australia will see a bit more precipitation, with heavy rain expected across the northern coastal plain and along the coast near the Great Barrier Reef. A few showers are possible in the southeast, but these will be widely scattered.
New Zealand will see showers and thunderstorms pop up throughout the day.
