Saprissa draws 2-2 with Herediano, claims third straight Costa Rican title

Saprissa won its third straight Costa Rican league title Sunday, holding on for a 2-2 draw with Herediano to claim a 26th national crown.
Saprissa, which won the first leg 2-0 at Herediano's Eladio Rosabal Cordero Stadium on Wednesday, led after only three minutes on Sunday on a goal by Try Bennet. An own-goal by Jose Chan doubled the lead and despite replies by Fausto Gonzalez and Felix Montoya, Saprissa claimed a 4-2 aggregate victory before a home crowd of 21,000.
Saprissa's third straight crown was the most consecutive titles it has won since it claimed six in a row between 1971 and 1977.
