AEK Athens beats Xanthi 1-0; retains lead in Greek league

Ismael Bravo scored to give AEK Athens a 1-0 win at Xanthi on Sunday to retain its lead in the Greek league.
AEK achieved its sixth straight win without conceding a single goal and has 18 points, five ahead of crosstown rival Panathinaikos. Olympiakos is third with 12 points.
AEK squandered several chances before Blanco put the visitors ahead with his fifth goal of season. He beat goalkeeper Ivan Turina with a shot from inside the area after a through ball from Brazilian Rivaldo.
Panathinaikos moved up to second place with a 2-0 home win over 10-man Atromitos on goals from Dimitris Salpingidis and Dimitris Papadopoulos. Olympiakos was held 3-3 at Ergotelis.
Atromitos' Giorgos Anatolakis was sent off in the 10th minute.
On the island of Crete, Ergotelis took the lead with a penalty by Junior Silva in the 20th minute. Giorgos Theodoridis made it 2-0 five minutes later.
Olympiakos drew level within five minutes with goals from Julio Cezar in the 27th and Dario Kovasevic in the 38th. Predrag Djordjevic put the defending champions ahead with a penalty in the 58th.
But in the 89th, Silva kicked the ball through a number of players in Olympiakos' goalmouth to level.
