Karlsruher SC sends Wolfsburg and Magath deeper into crisis in Bundesliga

Christian Eichner scored with a 79th-minute header Sunday to give Karlsruher SC a 2-1 win and deepen VfL Wolfsburg's crisis in the Bundesliga.
No one on Wolfsburg jumped up with Eichner on a cross, leading goalkeeper Simon Jentzsch to scream at his own defenders. His dive to the left didn't have a chance as the ball slipped inside the post.
Wolfsburg fell into the relegation zone after Jacek Krzynowek gave the club a 21st-minute lead before Mario Eggimann leveled in the 63rd.
"We had two defenders there, but no one stopped Eichner. He could chose his corner," Jentzsch said. "It's one minute to 12, we have to stop making these mistakes."
Wolfsburg gave former Bayern coach Felix Magath a free hand to sign 13 new players like Jentzsch, regarded as a top goalkeeper, with owner Volkswagen willing to bankroll a top club.
But Wolfsburg has just one win in five matches and the loss to promoted Karlruhe was unexpected.
Hertha Berlin moved into fifth place as Marko Pantelic scored two goals in a 2-1 win over MSV Duisburg. The Serbian forward celebrated his 29th birthday on Saturday.
Klemen Lavric scored a 78th-minute consolation goal for Duisburg.
Also, it was: Borussia Dortmund 3, Werder Bremen 0; Stuttgart 3, Energie Cottbus 0; Bayern Munich 1, Schalke 1; Bayer Leverkusen 2, Bochum 0; FC Nuremberg 2, Hannover 96 2; Arminia Bielefeld 4, Hansa Rostock 2; and Eintracht Frankfurt 2, Hamburger SV 1.
