Vittek, Mintal to lead Slovakia in Euro 2008 qualifiers against Ireland and Wales

Slovakia will count on its FC Nuremberg strikers Robert Vittek and Marek Mintal in next moth's European Championship qualifiers against Ireland and Wales.
Coach Jan Kocian also called up Filip Miklosko of Manisaspor and Bochum forward Stanislav Sestak to provide additional scoring threats up front.
"It is necessary for us win the forthcoming games and that's why I called up so many offensive players," coach Jan Kocian said in a statement Friday.
The 20-man squad for the home games against Ireland in Bratislava on Sept. 8 and Wales four days later in Trnava, includes only five players from the top Slovak league.
Slovakia is fourth in Group D with nine points. Germany tops the standings with 19 followed by the Czech Republic on 14 and Ireland on 13.
