Menotti looking forward to getting Tecos headed in right direction

Cesar Luis Menotti, who managed Argentina to the 1978 World Cup title, said Wednesday he's full of energy and looking forward to directing UAG Tecos of Guadalajara.
Last week, the 68-year-old Menotti was chosen as the new manager of Tecos, which has the worst record in the Mexican league with just one victory in four matches.
"I don't live in dreams, and I know reality shows that we must work fast to develop a medium and a long-term plan," Menotti said.
Many in Mexico, credit Menotti, who has also manager first-tier teams like Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Boca Juniors and River Plate, with pushing players on the Mexican national team to face their contenders on a one-to-one basis.
"The chance to be back in Mexico presented itself...and that's very motivating for me," said Menotti, who also directed the Mexican national team between 1991 and 1993.
Tecos will pay Menotti about US$850,000 (euro623,600) for the season, according to Mexican media reports.
