5 Chinese companies to display products at Detroit auto show

Five Chinese automakers will bring their vehicles to Detroit for display at the 2008 North American International Auto Show in January.
In addition to the Chinese carmaker, two European ultra-luxury carmakers will be first-time exhibitors, Rod Alberts, executive director of the Detroit Auto Dealers Association, told the Detroit Free Press. Alberts would not name the carmakers.
In 2006, Geely Automobile Co. showed off a sedan in the hallways outside the main exhibit space, and fellow China-based automaker Changfeng Motors appeared this year.
Detroit is the most critical North American auto show in terms of product launches and media attention. The 2008 show runs Jan. 19-27.
