Viljoen injures knee, replaced by Osborne on Eagles rugby squad

Fijian-born fullback Andrew "Tui" Osborne was added to the United States squad on Tuesday for the rugby World Cup after Francois Viljoen tore knee ligaments.
Viljoen was hurt last week and wouldn't recover in time for the World Cup, which starts in 10 days in France.
He'd captained the U.S. at the Churchill Cup in England this year, and earned 16 caps since 2004.
"It's heartbreaking for Francois, and a blow to the U.S. squad to lose such a great player and leader on this team," Eagles coach Peter Thorburn said.
Osborne made his Eagles debut during the Churchill Cup. He'd also played for the U.S. Sevens team last season and the USA Falcons side which was runner-up in the North America 4 for the last two years.
"It is sad that after all Francois has gone through for this team he's out with an injury," Osborne said. "But, at the same time, I can't help but be excited about this opportunity to join the U.S. team going to France. And, I'm going to give everything I can to contribute to our team's success."
The Americans' World Cup opener is against defending champion England in Lens on Sept. 8.
