US dollar mixed, gold higher in European morning trading

The U.S. dollar was mixed against other major currencies in European trading Tuesday morning. Gold rose.
The euro was quoted at US$1.3653, unchanged from late Monday in New York.

The British pound was quoted at US$2.0060, up from US$2.0129.
Gold traded in London at US$667.00 bid per troy ounce, up from US$666.80 late Monday on the New York Mercantile Exchange. London markets were closed for a holiday on Monday.
In Zurich, gold traded at US$665.55 bid per troy ounce, up from US$664.20.
Gold fell 30 cents in Hong Kong to US$667.05.
Silver opened in London at US$11.74, down from US$11.75 in New York on Monday.
