Canadian banned for nine months after testing positive for THC

Canadian Paralympic skier Kimberley Joines has been banned for nine months after testing positive for marijuana at the Alpine World Cup event in Aspen, Colorado, in January.
Joines had illegal levels of THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) said Thursday.
She was given a nine-month ban because it was her first doping offense.
