Singapore Exxon Mobil oil refinery fire leaves 2 workers dead

Two contractors died in a fire at an Exxon Mobil Corp. refinery Thursday on an island off Singapore, the company said.
Two other workers were injured in the Pulau Ayer Chawan plant fire, which was reported at 1:15 a.m. local time (1715 GMT Wednesday), Exxon Mobil said in a statement.
The fire was extinguished and the Singapore Civil Defence Force was investigating its cause, the statement said.
The plant has a crude oil processing capacity of 309,000 barrels a day, according to the company's Web site.
Exxon Mobil, the world's largest listed oil and gas company by market capitalization, also operates another Singapore refinery with a 296,000-barrel-a-day capacity.
The company said it had no immediate comment on whether the fire disrupted oil supplies, or if the plant or any of its units had been shut down.
