Copa Libertadores: Caracas and Santos draw 2-2 in second-round opener

Venezuela's Caracas drew Brazilian two-time champion Santos 2-2 in the opening match of the second stage of the Copa Libertadores on Wednesday.
After handily winning its previous eight matches in the preliminary phase and first round, Santos was challenged hard by the lowest-ranked team to qualify for the second round.
Ze Roberto of Santos opened the scoring in the 17th minute, taking advantage of a blunder by Jorge Rojas, who blocked an attempt by defender Edder Perez to clear the ball from the goal area.
Caracas equalized in the 54th when Colombian Ivan Velasquez scored off of a free kick.
Kleber put the unbeaten Brazilians in front again in the 64th, but the Venezuelans struck back four minutes from the end with a goal from defender Leonel Vielma.
The teams face each other again on May 10 in Santos.
